About the CMS

The University of Kansas uses a content management system (CMS) to ensure a consistent user experience, rich content and easy access to the information KU site visitors are seeking.

The CMS enables those without technical knowledge of HTML and CSS coding to easily build and maintain websites. The CMS is also robust enough to allow experienced web developers to incorporate customized features, but is simple enough for novice users to quickly begin managing a site.

Our CMS uses Drupal, a highly regarded website development tool, and includes several roles: contributor, editor, and site administrator. Using the CMS, KU faculty and staff can easily add and edit content to pages, add or delete pages, and add images, photos and videos.
