Content Type Overview
The KU CMS offers a number of Content Types. Content types provide a variety of functionality for KU CMS websites.
Advanced Content Type — an complex but flexible content type that offers
- pre-built layout controls to organize and format content
- content tailored to a user based on his/her audience type, geolocation, and browser viewport size
- per-page slideshow and sidebar block creation
Contact Page — displays a Google Map of your location and contact information for your office and is linked in your site footer
Degree - add a degree — degrees are a two-step process: first the degree is first established/defined on the site with the Degree - add a degree content type
Degree - general content — the second step of the degree process: detailed information about the degree is added and assigned to the degree with the Degree - General content content type
General content page — a basic, simple page type that will be used for most of the pages on your website
Homepage — the original 2012 CMS Homepage content type featuring a slide show area, a top content area and two lower content areas
KU Homepage featuring full-width image — the 2017 KU Brand homepage which features a full-width hero image and two layout options
News - cherry pick a KU News article — pulls news articles from news.ku.edu and displays them on your site
News — news local to your site but can be submitted to the KU News service from within the content type form
Person Profile — provides a standard format for displaying information about faculty, staff and students across KU websites — the information can be pulled from Faculty Pro, if the individual is a tenured or tenure track faculty member, or can be entered manually
Slide/Gallery image — slides or gallery images are created individually using a common tag to group the slides or images together into a slideshow or gallery, then the slideshow is placed on a page using token code
Webform — non-secure web pages that contain form elements used to collect data from the visitors to your site
